Over two-thirds of our living planet’s surface is covered by our oceans. These oceans are not only home to amazing ecosystems but to a vast amount of wildlife as well. But beyond its value of biodiversity, the ocean sustains more than 1 billion people, regulates our climate, produces half the oxygen we breathe, and maintains the water cycle.

But today, overuse and pollution are now disrupting these services. Our oceans are being overfished. And hundreds of thousands of marine mammals, seabirds, and sea turtles are captured every year, including tens of millions of sharks. Even half of all coral reefs and mangroves are no more.

Relation to my website:
Music has the power to raise awareness on topics that may have not reached a mass audience before. For this cause, I believe that raising awareness is key to increasing widespread involvement in conserving and protecting our oceans. Music can help do this by spreading awareness through song lyrics, benefit concerts and more. Through music, change is achievable.
